A special COVID-19 charity(慈善,cí shàn) fashion show(时装秀,shí zhuāng xiù) featuring models(模特,mó tè) wearing artistic face masks raised the curtain(拉开帷幕,lā kāi wéi mù) in Shanghai on Wednesday.

Mask fashion show marks Sino-Italian efforts to fight COVID-19

Nearly forty sets of masks were displayed(展示,zhǎn shì) during the show. The designs were based on new works from ten renowned(著名的,zhù míng de) Chinese contemporary artists(当代艺术家,dāng dài yì shù jiā).

Inaugurated in the landmark building (地标建筑,dì biāo jiàn zhù)” Shanghai Tower(上海中心),” the fashion show is part of “Italy, we are with you,” a charity event to help Italians combat the virus. A special set of masks with the ten artists’ signatures(签名,qiān míng) were auctioned(拍卖,pāi mài) during the show.

The organizer also used the event to announce(宣布,xuān bù) a donation(捐赠,juān zèng) of 42,000 masks to the Italian National Chamber of Italian Fashion.

This year marks the 50th anniversary(周年纪念,zhōu nián jì niàn) of diplomatic ties(外交关系,wài jiāo guān xì) between China and Italy.
