My views on the development of private car ownership

With improved social developments, more and more Chinese families are beginning to afford private cars. Yet opinions of whether we should develop private car ownership or not differ from person to person.

In some people’s eyes, private cars offer them great convenience and mobility. People no longer have to depend on public transportation and they can go wherever they want. However, opponents of this idea think that private cars make the situation of city traffic even worse. There are already so many traffic jams. What’s more, so many private cars greatly pollute the air.

As far as  I’m concerned, the increasing number of private cars is a symbol of the modernization of our country, but we should try to carry out some relative policies to put the use of private cars under firm control.

I Won The First Place in The Spring Sports Meet muTu's Note - Read and Learn Chinese in 5 Min Our school usually holds a spring sports meet each year. The spring sports meet this year was held last Friday. Many students took an active part in it. So did I. The sports meet began at eight o’clock. After the opening, all kinds of races, both field-events and track-events, started one after another, I took part in the 1500-metre race. I felt a little nervous before the contest began because it was the first time that I had run at a school sports meet. My classmates stood around me, encouraging me, “Come on. You were the winner of our grade in the Long-distance Competition last time. Be brave!” On hearing the shot of the starting gun, I shot from the starting point. I ran at a medium speed at the beginning because there was a long way to go and I had to maintain my strength. As soon as there was only 400 meters left, I began to quicken my speed. I caught up with other runners soon ...
